When Spotify announced deals with Universal Music Group, Sony BMG, EMI Music, Warner Music Group, Merlin and The Orchard for their content to be included in their service well I for one was very happy.

so what is Spotify ? to me it’s a cross between iTunes and file sharing offering instant access to music and I mean INSTANT, I was impressed I went out and bought another Bose Ipod docking station but this one had the Auxiliary input for use with other sound sources mainly my laptop ;)

The user interface is truly awesome, search by word, artist or album and within seconds you have found monster list of records to choose from and a quick click you can create a new play list or simply add a another song to existing play list, iTunes Killer maybe, but i haven’t used my iPod since getting this service and my cat loves it !

so give me a reason to send you an invite I only have a couple and this service is European only really ;)

I can’t believe a new feature from Google isn’t getting more notice, because it gives you quality links from a PR10 domain, for free.

Dave was rooting around in Google’s robots.txt file one night last week (as you do) which led him on to their sitemap, which eventually leads you to around 150,000 static URIs for Google user profiles. Most are content- and inlink-free as profiles haven’t seen much use across the Google platform as yet, but some profiles have picked up a couple of links and toolbar PR of their own. If you buy into the idea that domain authority is as large a factor as that of the specific page you receive a link from (and we do) free links don’t get much better than this.

Get them while they’re hot. Looks like we’re not the only ones who have noticed.

I just can’t believe what I have seen today, in what can only be the most stupidest descision that a competitor has ever done,they remove the mod rewrite on all the Urls’s from :.co.uk/productname.htmlto.co.uk/product-detail.asp?prodid=1111111&prodgrid=2222222222&catTID=9998&subTID=11111&rangeid=444444&rid=1111 not only that they haven’t 301′d the old url’s at first I thought it was a error, but they have redesigned the site and it looks like it totally intentional , btw I have noticed them already losing their rankings hahah

Danny Dover at SEOMoz just published The Internet Marketing Handbook. It’s a top notch resource for anyone new to Search Engine Marketing and I’m sure old hands will (re)discover a few things in there too.

It’s a collection of links rather than a handbook of course, but let’s not split hairs…”An SEO education on a single page” might have been a more accurate title, but I imagine that’d see a lot less traffic than “Internet Marketing Handbook”.

The evening was a open and frank discussion about the industry and even if we didn’t really share amazing tips, ok maybe one or two, I hoped that Anthony made some new friends around the table, I gave him my Msn messenger account so he can keep in touch, Todd so so nearly convinced me to get an iphone after showing every app in the apple store ( yes he really does have them all :) ), Marcus couldn’t eat his spicy soup or drink BEER, the beer was due to him drinking 500 litres in Munich ;)..

Anyway I hope everyone had a good time and we will do it again next time I guess :)
